BFEF Interns and Assistants
International teaching interns and local classroom assistants provide target language support and cultural enrichment in every classroom at Franklin.

Established in 2010, the intern program relies on host families to house and feed our international teaching interns.
These young people are between the ages of 21 and 26 and are training to be teachers in their home countries.
The BFEF can ONLY invite interns if housing is secured for them.
Host families provide a private bedroom. A shared bathroom is fine. A neighbor, an extended family member, a Franklin alumni family who lives near you - anyone with a private room or guest house is welcome to host!
The minimum hosting stint is 8 weeks. Many host families choose a semester or even the full school year.
Interns get to and from school however you do. Carpooling with another Franklin family is fine. Some interns who live close enough to Franklin prefer to bike or walk to and from school.
Interns are NOT au pairs or free childcare. Their job is to work 37 hours a week supporting students and teachers at Franklin.
